Six Reasons Clients Choose CushionX

Quick Installation

Installs up to three times faster than traditional cushioned systems — getting your court ready for play sooner, with less downtime for commercial facilities.

Multiple Thickness Options

Choose the cushion that fits your play style and budget: 4mm, 6mm, or 8mm. Thicker options deliver more force reduction; thinner options keep ball response quick and firm.

Impact Resistant

Up to 15% force reduction on joints compared to hard-court surfaces — less fatigue during long sessions and less long-term wear and tear on the body.

Multiple Adhesive Options

Latex-based and urethane formulas, available in squeegee and spray application methods — so the system can be tuned to the site, climate, and timeline.

Trusted Manufacture

Manufactured and distributed by AT Sports and backed by a 5-year product warranty. We install CushionX strictly to manufacturer specification to keep that warranty intact.

Paint-Ready

Once installed, CushionX is immediately compatible with Acrytech Flex coatings — so your finished court gets the same professional color, texture, and line work found on tournament surfaces.

Matched to How the Court Will Be Used

Every court and facility sees a different level of use. CushionX comes in three distinct composition levels, so the system you install actually fits the demand it will see.

Level 1 — Residential

Designed for private backyard courts and lightly-used home facilities where comfort and feel matter most.

Level 2 — HOA, Club & Community

Built for neighborhood courts, HOA amenities, and private clubs with moderate, consistent daily use.

Level 3 — Commercial & High-Traffic

The top-tier composition for commercial facilities, municipal courts, and high-traffic programming where durability and force reduction both have to hold up under constant play.

Warranty notice: The CushionX warranty applies only when the selected system level matches the intended court usage. Installing a system in a setting that exceeds its intended usage — for example, a Level 1 system in a commercial facility — will void warranty coverage. We'll walk you through the right level for your project during your consultation.

Two System Types

Mat Overlay System

A factory-produced cushion mat is rolled out, adhered, and seamed onto the prepared base. Predictable thickness, consistent feel across the entire surface, and fast turnaround make this a strong choice for high-use courts and larger projects.

  • Uniform cushion thickness court-wide
  • Fast on-site installation
  • Latex or urethane adhesive options
  • Ideal for commercial and club-level courts

Squeegee Applied System

Cushion layers are applied on-site and built up to the chosen thickness. The result is a monolithic surface with excellent bond characteristics and a consistent feel, installed by certified applicators with factory-grade equipment.

  • Built up on-site to 4mm, 6mm, or 8mm
  • Seamless, monolithic surface
  • Squeegee or spray application
  • Great for residential and club courts

Frequently Asked Questions

What sports is CushionX designed for?

CushionX is built primarily for tennis, pickleball, and multi-sport courts, with applications for basketball and other cushioned athletic surfaces. It pairs cleanly with Acrytech Flex coatings for any sport-specific color or line configuration.

How do I know which thickness to choose?

4mm delivers a firmer, faster feel; 6mm is our most-requested "balanced" option; 8mm gives the most force reduction and is common on tennis and long-session pickleball courts. We'll recommend a thickness based on the sports you're playing, player preferences, and court use.

Can CushionX be installed over my existing court?

Often, yes — provided the existing slab or asphalt base is structurally sound and properly sloped. We start with a free on-site evaluation to confirm the base is suitable and recommend any repair work needed before installation.

How long does installation take?

A typical residential CushionX installation — including base prep, cushion application, coating, and line work — runs one to two weeks depending on scope and weather. The CushionX layer itself installs up to 3x faster than traditional cushioned systems.

What about the warranty?

CushionX carries a 5-year manufacturer product warranty from AT Sports when the correct level is specified for the intended use and the system is installed to factory specification. We also back our workmanship separately. We'll review both warranties with you before the project starts.
